This 2006 Volkswagen GTI is sure to follow its predecessors in sales, which have registered a record sale of 1.5 million. It is an inch wider and longer then its predecessors. The GTI model has a FSI turbocharged four engine which will erase all the memories of V6. The power train is a 4-cyl front wheel drive. 2006 Volkswagen GTI has a full responsive throttle control and you don’t need to go pressing through it for a long time. The 2.0 liter FSI is a standard through all the GTIs. It has automatic direct shift-gate gearbox and a six speed manual.
The DSG models of the GTI are quicker and accelerate from 0 to 69 mph in a minimal 6.9 seconds. Though the gearbox is feather touch, but the response is greater to dazzle the eyes. The front seats have firm lateral bolsters and the rear seats have enough room for adults.
What's also neat about the '06 GTI is that it has a six CD changer in the armrest of the front seat, very cool!
